Joan Miro Museum
The Parc Joan Miro was built in honor of the 20th century painter and sculptor from Barcelona, Joan Miró. He was born in 1893 in Barcelona and studied at the local academy of Fine Arts. He later moved to Paris and began developing an increasingly surreal style.
The Parc Joan Miró consists of two levels. The lower level was built with pine, palm and eucalyptus trees. There are flower beds that are very colorful in the spring and summer. The upper level is tiled and includes the crown jewel of the park, one of the last sculptures by Joan Miró, entitled ‘Dona i Ocell’ (woman with bird).
